Tattered Outlaws: Irish Times Review

Michael Seaver's review of Tattered Outlaws of History pleases me not only because it is sympathetic but because it recognises the choreography in the work that extends beyond the steps.

About Me

Fearghus: I'm a choreographer and this blog started when I was dance artist in residence for Dublin City Council. That means that Dublin City Council supported me for a period of time to research and make work. The Arts Council/An Chomhairle Ealaíon also granted me an award which allowed me to work with other artists on this project. This kind of support was a great gift to me, particularly as I wanted to make dance that isn't only seen in theatres. In my work, I like making the exceptional familiar and the familiar strange. To do that I often take dance to unexpected locations. As part of the residency,I'm investigated how our bodies react to the big changes in urban architecture that are taking places with the regeneration in cities like Dublin and Shanghai. So I'm making dance that's looking for its place inside, outside or alongside the buildings that are growing and dying with such speed. The residency is over now but I've found this blog very useful for sharing the ideas and inspirations behind my work and I want to continue the conversations and contacts it has made possible.
